BEDFORD – James Mauro passed for 312 yards and two touchdowns as Hurst Bell (3-3 , 2-1) held off Justin Northwest (0-6, 0-3) at Pennington Field.
Northwest overcame a 20-point deficit to pull within seven points with its only offensive touchdown with 3:03 to play, but Bell recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.
Mauro's touchdown passes of 24 yards to Kenny Muwanguzi and 75 yards to Austin West gave Bell a 27-7 lead in the third quarter.
Northwest's Drew Bridges returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown early in the first quarter. Northwest also scored on a blocked punt.
Jeramie Brown returned a fumble 47 yards for Bell's other score.
