Alicia Vasquez pitched a three-hitter as Mesquite Horn advanced to the 5A Region II semifinals.

Horn, the state's 10th-ranked 5A team, scored both of its runs in the top of the second. Blair Beard led off with a triple and scored on a double by Taylor Bratcher. Bratcher then scored on a single by Jordan Bratcher.
