Mesquite Horn's Gary Green says he likes moving to nose tackle, even though it's his fourth position in three years.
"I had gotten used to playing center," Green said, "but when they told me that they were moving me to defense, my eyes lit up."
Green started 10 games at left offensive tackle as a sophomore in 2005 and played defensive tackle last season. Coach Don Payne moved him to center this season.
But after Horn gave up 784 yards rushing in its first two games, Payne moved the 6-4, 265-pound Green back to defense to help correct the problem. Horn gave up just 62 rushing yards last week to Hillcrest.
"It was a day-and-night difference," Payne said, "and Gary is the No. 1 reason for that."
