North Mesquite sophomore linebacker J.D. Dotson is out for the season after breaking his leg, North Mesquite coach Mike Robinson said.

Dotson was injured in the third quarter of North Mesquite's 28-17 win over North Garland last week. The game was stopped for about 12 minutes before Dotson was carted off and taken to the hospital.

"It's fixed now," Robinson said. "The doc said it was a clean break, and he should be back to normal activity in about six months."

Robinson said that three players were competing to take Dotson's place.
