Taylor Jones pitched a five-hit shutout as Plano East won Game 3 of a best-of-3 5A area-round series. Plano East (20-14-1) scored all of its runs in the first inning – on an RBI triple by Rachel Scott and a two-run home run by Holly Kern.

Plano East advanced to play Keller in a regional quarterfinal at 7:30 p.m. today at Lewisville North.
