Dominque Patterson scored on a 23-yard interception return nine seconds into the game as Skyline set the tone early in a 42-0 win over Plano East at Forrester Stadium.
On Plano East's first offensive play, a pass into the flat was broken up by Skyline defensive back Kerry Nation, knocking the ball into the air and allowing the interception by Patterson.
Skyline didn't stop there, holding Plano East to three-and-outs on its next two offensive possessions, and converting the resulting field possession into two touchdowns.
Javia Hall's touchdown passes of 24 and 11 yards gave Skyline – ranked No. 5 in SportsDay's Class 5A rankings – a 21-0 lead with 4:18 remaining in the first quarter.
Hall finished 9-of-14 for 92 yards and three touchdowns, two to Joe Powell. He also threw a key block on a touchdown run by Adrian Lee.
Originally set up as a trap to the left, Lee reversed field, picking up Hall's block in the process, and outran Plano East's secondary down the right sideline for a 51-yard touchdown.
Skyline (3-0) rushed for 280 yards. Nick Rivers had two of his team's six sacks as Skyline held Plano East (0-4) to 157 yards of total offense.
Plano East's Josh Peprah, who has given a verbal commitment to Wisconsin, had eight tackles, two for loss.
