MURPHY - Quarterback Matt Brown rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another, leading Allen to a 30-14 victory over Plano East at Kimbrough Stadium.
The victory kept Allen (8-1, 5-0 ) undefeated in District 8-5A.
After Brown's second rushing touchdown extended Allen's lead to 13-0, Plano East (0-9, 0-5) drove to Allen's 27-yard line, a drive highlighted by Rodney Thompson's 42-yard catch and run, but Daniel Coleman's 44-yard field goal attempt was short.
After an Allen punt, Plano East went on an 11-play, 93-yard scoring drive to cut its deficit to 13-7.
Allen's Jeremiah Williams returned the ensuing kickoff 56 yards to Plano's East 38. Four plays later, Brown found Jeremy Reeves for a 20-yard scoring pass. With only 1:20 left in the half, Plano East drove to Allen's 2-yard line, but Coleman's field goal atempt was blocked.
