MESQUITE –Junior Justin Stout kicked a 50-yard field goal as time expired to lift West Mesquite (3-3, 2-0) to a huge 31-29 come-from-behind victory over Red Oak (1-5, 0-2).

Stout's field goal was his third of the game and came less than three minutes after Ryan Starek and Seth Rushing connected on a two-point conversion to give Red Oak a 29-28 lead.

Red Oak had a chance to seal the win after its defense forced West Mesquite to punt with under two minutes to play.

However, West Mesquite recovered a fumble two plays later, ultimately setting up Stout's winning field goal.
