Oklahoma signee Drew VerHagen led Rockwall-Heath’s offensive surge with a three-run homer and four RBIs in a 17-10 win in Game 1 of the Class 4A Region II quarterfinals best-of-3 series at Highland Park.

Highland Park (23-13) led, 3-0, early before Rockwall-Heath (26-8) scored 10 consecutive runs to pull away. Drew Benefield was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and earned the win on the mound and Jovan Hernandez was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Game 2 is at 7:30 tonight at Highland Park.
