No. 6 (5A) Rockwall (1-0): It soundly beat Midland on the road last week, 40-7, giving up only a touchdown in the final minutes. Rockwall QB Braden Smith completed 17 of 22 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns, two of which he threw to WR Michael Patterson. The Rockwall defense held Midland to 126 yards passing.
No. 2 (5A) Allen (1-0): It probably will go with sophomore QB Matt Brown because of an ankle injury to starter Stephen Payne. Brown might have gotten more playing time anyway because of his two touchdown passes in Allen's 21-15 victory over Garland Saturday. CB Jeremy Reeves had 12 tackles, three pass defended and an interception return for a touchdown.
