Rockwall is not trying to gain an extra edge in rest time by playing Southlake Carroll tonight instead of Friday, Rockwall ISD athletic director Mark Elam said.

Quarterback Braden Smith and Rockwall will be more rested than their opponent tonight. Southlake Carroll had only four days off after its loss Saturday to Miami Northwestern.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.
Carroll lost, 29-21, Saturday to Miami Northwestern. Rockwall's last game was Sept. 7, a 35-27 loss to Allen.
Elam said the reason for playing tonight is that Rockwall-Heath, which shares Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium with Rockwall, will celebrate its homecoming Friday night.
"We just didn't have any flexibility," Elam said. "It just so happened that Heath chose that game as their homecoming."
Carroll ISD athletic director Ronnie Tipps said that Rockwall scheduled the game but added that this situation was "something we didn't want to do."
Elam said that he and Tipps tried to play at SMU's Ford Stadium, but it was unavailable because of SMU's game Saturday with TCU.
