Top area softball teams need to find new arms
The four Dallas-area softball teams that made it to this year's state tournament have one thing in common. Celina, Plano East, Mesquite Poteet and Azle all must find a new starting pitcher next season.

Celina stymied, 3-1, in Class 3A softball final
Scoring runs had been no problem for the Celina softball team. Despite playing a schedule that featured several Class 4A and 5A powers, Celina had averaged eight runs per game entering Saturday's 3A state championship game. Fifteen times, Celina had scored at least 10 runs. Then Celina ran into Needville junior pitcher Cally Falls. Falls allowed only five hits as Needville defeated Celina, 3-1.
Brock wins 2A softball title
Linsey Hays fired a five-hit shutout and scored a pair of runs to lead Brock past Hallettsville, 3-0, for the Class 2A state softball championship.

Celina softball team advances to 3A title game
It has been a memorable softball season for Celina senior third baseman Brittanie Knowles and younger sister Lindsie, a freshman left fielder, as they got to be high school teammates for the first and only time.
