Red Oak senior Corwin Pace has flirted with the 200-foot range all season – his season-best is 193-9 – and he reached 186-6 at the 4A Region II meet. Pace was the 2007 state runner-up. Also in 4A, Forney's Landon Hartwick has been a consistent force all season.

Duncanville senior Servell Dandridge, a West Texas A&M football signee, threw a season-high 177-1 at the Carter Eddie Payne Relays on March 29 and enters the 5A meet seeded 5th at 166-4. Jesuit's Brandon Haynes is seeded sixth (164-2).

Whitesboro's Hayden Baillio is the favorite in 3A after finishing second in 2007.
