Track NewsState track and field: Girls 3,200 meters preview01:13 PM CDT on Friday, May 9, 2008Stephanie Ganter will attempt to keep McKinney North among the champions as she goes for the 4A title won in 2007 by former teammate Samantha Means. Ganter, a Stephen F. Austin signee, is seeded second after posting a season-best 10:55.87 at the Region II meet. Midlothian freshman Carly Kitts is seeded fourth. Cedar Park Vista Ridge's Ashley Isham, who owns the top time in the state this season at 10:37.17, is the No. 1 seed in 4A. She placed third in 2007. Southlake Carroll junior Tara Upshaw (11:04.19), who led her team to the state cross country championship last fall, owns the No. 4 seed in 5A behind Colleyville Heritage freshman Alyssa Nielson (10:55.24). Argyle senior Kristie Kruger, the 2007 3A state champion, is not running the event this year.
