SUBARU GAME OF THE WEEKFOOTBALL: Klein Oak beats the Bearkats of Klein01:12 AM CDT on Saturday, October 4, 2008 Video Klein Oak beats Bearkats of Klein October 3, 2008 KLEIN- The Klein Oak Panthers ruined homecoming for the Klein Bearkats, beating district rival Klein Friday at Klein Memorial stadium. The Klein Oak running attack paved the way for the Panthers’ victory, led by quarterback Andy Wilson, who ran rampant on Klein, rushing for 136 yards and two touchdowns, beating Klein 23-17. Andy Wilson started off the night scoring his first rushing TD from three yards out, but built his way up to a 79 yard TD run that sealed the game for Klein Oak. Wilson would be the first to tell you that most of the credit goes to the great blocking by their offensive line that boasts two NCAA division I commits. The Klein Oak O-line takes pride in moving defenders out of the way to allow Ossam Cook and Andy Wilson to have the kind of performances that they put up. Cook finished with 151 yards and one TD, on 26 carries, while Wilson racked up his 136 yards and two TD’s on 18 carries. Klein had a few homecoming highlights of their own; the biggest supplied by running back Dekota Barnes. Barnes ripped a 64 yard touchdown run before the half, which gave the Bearkats some hope entering the third quarter. Patrick Johnson added another rushing touchdown from 12 yards out, at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
hsgt Klein had several opporotunities late in the game to make a come back, but the Panther defense “Oak’ed ‘Em”, forcing the Bearkats to turn the ball over. Klein Oak’s next opponent is Tomball, who they have already started gearing up for.
