Scoring runs was not a problem for Lamar and Milby Wednesday night, in an HISD district double-header at Barnett Field, that resulted in two shut outs.

The Milby Buffs locked up a playoff spot with their 7-0 win over Chavez, sweeping the Lobos on the season. Milby’s pitcher, Richard Bautista sent Chavez’s potential batters to the dugout with nine strikeouts in seven innings, giving up only two hits and one walk.

The Lamar Redskins have been on fire and so have their bats; they ranked number one in their district and with playoffs right around the corner, every game counts. Lamar’s offense came out in full force, crushing Sam Houston’s pitching with18 runs on 16 hits leading Lamar to an 18-0 victory over the Tigers.
