It was a night for the girls, Thursday at Mayde Creek for the first of three playoff games between Cy Woods Wildcats and the Rams Mayde Creek, and it was a real pitchers duel. Mayde Creek’s Callie Darling led the way for the Rams shutting out Cy Woods 1-0, while striking out seven batters in seven innings. Cy Woods had a problem touching Darling’s pitching all game, hitting into double plays and pop outs. The Rams’ play defensively supported Darling’s strong pitching performance.

Neither team scored until the bottom of the fifth inning when Mayde Creek’s Caitlyn Bubb took advantage of a wild throw, and scored the game winning run from second base.

The Rams take a 1-0 lead in the series.
