After losing the first game 1-0 to Bellaire, the Alvin Yellowjackets stung back with a big win Friday at Elkins high school. The Alvin bats came alive when they were needed most, winning 7-2 over Bellaire, forcing a third and final game to decide who will move on.

In the third game Alvin did it again, stinging the Cardinals with their strong offense, defeating Bellaire 4-1, moving on to the next round in the softball state playoffs

THURSDAY

Bellaire belts out Alvin in the first game in a best of three game series, Thursday night at Elkins. Bellaire’s Kat Espinosa made the difference in tonight’s’ victory, pitching seven innings of shut out baseball, allowing two hits, and knocking in the game winning RBI.

With a runner on second, Espinosa launched a double off the wall to score the onlt run of the game, giving the Lady Cardinals a one game lead with tomorrows game starting at six p.m. at Elkins.
