KATY- Friday night does not belong to football anymore. The Katy Tigers varsity volleyball team took possession of first place in District 17-5A Friday night, defeating Cinco Ranch for the first time in district play since 2004. The Lady Tigers beat Cinco Ranch in a best of five games: 25-15, 26-24, 15-13.

The Tigers are now 5-0 in district and 27-8 overall. Katy returns to action Saturday night, hosting Morton Ranch at 6 pm.

The Tigers and Mavericks are teaming up to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation by "Playing For the Cure", with both teams wearing pink warm-up jerseys and donations being taken at the gate. Support Breast Cancer awareness month and pack the stands in PINK as we cheer on our undefeated Lady Tigers.
