AUSTIN -- Amy Moody scored 15 points and Mansfield Summit survived a 30-point effort by Cypress-Fairbanks' Chiney Ogwumike to knock off the defending state champions 49-39 Friday in the Class 5A state semifinals.

Ogwumike scored 24 in the second half. She was the only Cypress-Fairbanks player to score from the 3:12 mark in the first quarter until Aarika Reyna hit a 3-pointer in the final seconds.

Starr Crawford had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Summit (33-4). Cypress-Fairbanks (35-4) won the state title last season when Ogwumike teamed up with older sister Nneka, who was the national player of the year. Nneka Ogwumike is now at Stanford.
