Two Viking teams sailed to victory in the girls’ state tournament Saturday.

In the 4A, the Middleton Vikings downed the Bishop Kelly Knights 46-38.  Coming this far to win the championship trophy was emotional for the Vikings, who watched a major fire gut their school about a year ago.  

In the 5A, the Vallivue Falcons’ hopes in the title hunt were sunk by the Coeur D’Alane Vikings, 61-47. The Falcons’ Devyn Christiansen scored a game-high 18 points.
