TOP STORIESFormer Maverick Signs with Tulsa08:22 PM MST on Wednesday, January 16, 2008Former Mountain View Maverick quarterback Jacob Bower, who played last fall for Bakersfield (Calif.) Community College, signed to play College football for Tulsa this week. Bower said he signed with the Golden Hurricane mainly because of the prolific offense it had last season, as Senior Paul Smith threw for more than 5,000 yards and 47 touchdowns. He also said he turned down offers from Hawaii, Boise State, Colorado State and San Diego State, among others. After graduating from Mountain View, Bower was rated as one of the top quarterbacks in the country, and singed with BYU (but never played for the Cougars). Bower went on a 2-year LDS Church Mission, and redshirted for BYU in 2006. After that, he transferred to junior college. |
