GAME OF THE WEEKPlethora of good games across the Inland Northwest03:35 PM PST on Friday, January 18, 2008There are some big games across the Inland Northwest on Friday. For the boys, the biggest is down in Pullman. The Greyhounds are undefeated in the Great Northern League at 5 and 0. Cheney is a half game back at 5 and 1. The teams meet at 7:30. There’s a logjam at the top of the GNL, with Clarkston 4 and 1 and West Valley 4 and 2. A Pullman win doesn’t knock Cheney out of the race by any means, but it does give the Greyhounds a little more breathing room. A win by the Blackhawks really makes things interesting. The girls game at Pullman is also a good one. The Greyhound girls are 5 and 0. The Cheney girls are 4 and 2. But the biggest game is in the GSL, where Lewis and Clark is threatening to run away with the title again. The Tigers are still undefeated at 12 and 0. Shadle and Mead are tied for second with 11 and 2 records. L-C plays Shadle at SFCC, the Highlanders temporary home, at 7:30. If the Highlanders are going to have a chance to win the league title, they have to win on Friday. |
