Ferris and Shadle Park will play for the district championship Friday night at Central Valley High School.

Everyone expected Ferris and Shadle Park to be at the top of the Greater Spokane League standings at the end of the year...and they were.

The Saxons won the league championship, the Highlanders nipping at their heels.

Of all the teams who played Ferris this year, Shadle Park looked to be the most competitive.

And, they'll get a third chance to knock off their GSL foe.

In their first match up, before DeAngelo Casto was available for the Saxons, Ferris escaped with a 61-55 victory. Erick Cheadle led the charge with 18 points.

The two battled again on January 24th. It was undoubtedly one of, if not the best basketball game of the year. Zack Humphrey was lights out for Shadle Park, knocking down some huge shots from well beyond the arc. He finished the night with 19 points. Anthony Brown had a chance to tie it at the end, but his shot was off the mark. Ferris won, 53-50.

And now this, the third go-around of the year, with a district championship on the line. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 Friday night at Central Valley High School.
