SPOKANE -- Two weeks into the Washington high school football season one thing is perfectly clear: Joe Albi stadium is the place to be on Thursday nights.
HSgametime.com, KREM.com On opening night last Thursday, L-C used an Alex Shaw touchdown run with five seconds to play to escape with a 27-21 win over Central Valley. This Thursday, University quarterback Dan Jordan scored on a three yard run with 15 seconds left to lift the 2 and 0 Titans to a 14-13 win over Shadle. The Highlanders fall to 0 and 2 with the loss, but give them credit for having a chance to win after they lost to Mead 52-6 on Friday. Shadle led 13-7 with 1:30 to play in the game before Jordan led the Titans on the game winning drive. Coaches and players always say the defense is ahead of the offense early in the season. That wasn't the case in our first week of HSgametime. By our count, 22 of the winning teams scored 30 or more points last week. Sure, some of those were 8-man games, but there were some high scoring games out there in the storms that hit the Inland Northwest. It'll be fun to see if the trend continues this week. Have fun at the games tonight and check back with HSgametime.com and HSgametime on KREM-2 for all of your scores and highlights. |
