After finishing as runners-up the past two seasons, the Coeur d'Alene girl's basketball team finally broke through to win the title.

The Coeur d'Alene girls won the 5A state title Saturday night.

They beat Vallivue Saturday to win the 5A State Championship.

Amy Warbrick led the Vikings charge with 16 points. Carli Rosenthal also played well, scoring 10 points and grabbing 8 boards. Kama Griffits added 14tallies of her own.

It was only a six point game going into the 4th quarter, but CDA outscored the Falcons 21-13 in the final frame.

The Vikings can thank great defense for the victory. They held Vallivue to shooting 35% from the field.
