HSGameTime.com North Central fans celebrate their Groovy Shoes victory. Tuesday's Groovy Shoes battle between Shadle Park and North Central had everything: Great basketball, amazing fans, and one top prize. The Shadle Park girl's started the fun for Highlanders fans. They cruised past the Indians, 53-28. Senior Lindsay Niemeier led the Highlanders with 12 points. Bianca Pope wasn't far behind, scoring 11 of her own. North Central's Brittney Konynenbelt scored nine points to lead the Indians. Shadle Park was also victorious in the boy's game. Robby Douglas put up a game-high 19 points to lead the Highlanders to a 70-56 victory. Senior Anthony Brown also had a big game, scoring 16 points in the win. Nathan Pelton, with his hair dyed red for the rivalry bout, led the Indians with 15 points. But, the basketball is only part of the fun. At the end of the night, North Central was celebrating with the Groovy Shoes for the second straight year. In this rivalry game...everyone wins. |
