Spokane-- The GSL boys' soccer championship race went down to the final afternoon of the season. Mead,CV,LC,Ferris and U-High were all in contention for the league title at one time or another.

Mead got the nod over CV in the final standings thanks to a tiebreaker. When the Panthers and Bears met for the top spot in the regional tournament, CV avenged a 1-0 regular season loss to claim the district title. With only two regional playoff spots up for grabs, the Panthers had to play Ferris for the GSL's last trip to regionals. The Saxons beat the Panthers 3-1 on April 25th, but the playoff game at Joe Albi Stadium went the other way. Mead advances, Ferris stays home along with LC and U-High, three teams that could've easily represented the GSL against the Columbia Basin League.

CV stays home to play Pasco on Friday night at 6:00, while Mead heads to Wenatchee.
