TOP STORIESNW Christian announces new girl's basketball coach07:04 PM PDT on Thursday, August 27, 2009SPOKANE -- Northwest Christian Schools announced that Beth Wing, the former girls’ basketball coach at Mead High School, will be the new head basketball coach of the NWC Lady Crusaders.
Wing coached at Mead from 1997 through 1999, leading the Panthers to a fourth place finish at state in 1999. She was also the head girls’ coach at Rogers of Puyallup from 1999 through 2002, leading her team to district and state competitions. She earned the South Puget Sound League Coach of the Year and All-Area Coach of the Year during her stint at Rogers. Wing returned to coach at Mead again for the 2002-2003 season, when the Panthers were Greater Spokane League champions and competed in both district and regional tournaments. Wing was an assistant coach at NWC from 1992-1995 when she was a student at Gonzaga, coaching 8th grade girls basketball, volleyball, and softball as well as assisting in the varsity programs. “It is truly a blessing to be back here in Spokane again. My family and I feel like the timing is right for me to get back into coaching and I am thankful for their support,” said Wing. “I am excited to work with this incredible group of young ladies at Northwest Christian.” |
