Spokane -- Alexis Olgard has been chosen as a mid-blocker for the USA Women’s Junior National Team.

The team will compete in the World Championships next month in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico.

The 17-year-old will continue to train in Spokane with her Splash U-18 National team prior to appearing in the Junior Olympics in Miami, Florida July 1-4. She'll then train with her USA team in Chula Vista, Cailfornia prior to the World FIVB competition July 16-25th.

Olgard, a junior at Mead High School, was named as an alternate last year to the USA Women’s Team.
