TOP STORIESLewis & Clark beats Bothell for state title11:05 PM PST on Sunday, December 2, 2007TACOMA -- After ten years without a 4A state championship in Spokane, Lewis and Clark is bringing home the top trophy after knocking off Bothell 21-14 Saturday night in Tacoma.
FSN Lewis and Clark brings the 4A championship back to Spokane for the first time in a decade. Steven Eglet threw for two touchdowns, including the game winner to Jordan Hanson with a little over a minute left in the game, and Alex Shaw ran for one more to give LC the victory. Lewis and Clark's 21 points was the most the Cougars gave up all year. The Tigers finish the year 10-3. They beat Woodinville (21-7), Inglemoor (35-0), Edmonds-Woodway (28-26), and Bothell in the playoffs. Those teams were a combined 39-8 on the year. Central Valley was the last Greater Spokane League team to win the 4A title. They beat South Kitsap 49-13 in 1997. |
