FAN OF THE WEEKBiggest rivalry and luckiest girl!12:08 AM EDT on Saturday, October 4, 2008Louisville, Ky. (HSGameTime.com) - Magic was in the air and I felt like the luckiest girl on the planet Friday night at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium! There is no greater display of team spirit than watching the St. X Tigers take on the Trinity Shamrocks. This is definitely the biggest rivalry in Kentuckiana and one of the biggest high school rivalries in the country.
Pom Pom and I were in awe as we walked along the sidelines looking up into the endless sea of fans. I only wish I had enough footballs to throw to everyone in the stands (hmmm, maybe if they were really, really tiny-sized footballs they would be small enough to carry thousands). Anyhoot, my homegirl Pom Pom and I had quite a task at hand; of all the thousands upon thousands of people could we find the two biggest fans worthy of being called Taco Bell Fan of the Week?
With 100% confidence, I say yes! From the sidelines I spotted Jordan Plamp and knew immediately that he was the finest example of a St. X fan. He was half-naked, painted and had what looked like three mohawks going on all the same time. All of the Tigers blew me away with their enthusiasm and I want to thank them for letting me bask in their awesomeness, even if for only a momentJ I had faith that we would find the best Trinity Taco Bell Fan of the Week since I just hung out with the Shamrocks two weeks ago at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium and I was right! When I asked who the biggest Trinity fan is, everyone pointed Pom Pom and I in the direction of Nate Marcum and he did not disappoint. The Trinity fans are so true-blue it always inspires me when I get the chance to hang out with them. I want to say thank you to everyone whose path I crossed at the St. X vs. Trinity game. It really was a magical night for me and I say thanks for letting me be a part of it!
