TOP STORIESSacred Heart wins state championship05:23 PM EDT on Thursday, October 25, 2007Sacred Heart won its second straight state championship in field hockey Wednesday night beating (21-7) Kentucky Country Day 4-1. This marks their fifth state title overall, and extends their winning streak to 54 games. Senior Taylor Collins had a monster game scoring three goals capping off an outstanding season for the (26-0) Valkyries. Collins, Meredith Golden, Jennifer Bohnert, and Devanny Kuhn were named to the All-state Tournament team, and celebrate a four year winning streak that stretches through their freshman, junior varsity, and varsity seasons. Coach Liz Lewis was named coach of the year, and picked up her 100 th career win. Congratulations to Sacred Heart’s field hockey team on their outstanding season.
