TOP STORIESNew Albany basketball star getting major pub10:44 PM EDT on Wednesday, June 25, 2008Falling one win short of winning the IHSAA state basketball title is not slowing down New Albany junior Donnie Hale. The 6'8" center has been awfully busy this summer not only working on his game but going against some of the best college basketball players in Kentucky and Indiana. After hearing about all of the buzz Hale's been getting lately I decided to track him down. While I didn't get to talk to him for very long, and he stood me up by not returning my call later that night, I did find out he went over to UofL to play a pick-up game with some of the Cardinal players. Recently Hale also played with a few players up on the IU campus in Bloomington. The list of schools after him is continuing to grow with Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, Purdue and Oklahoma State just a few teams on the list. he'll only get better. He averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds a game as a junior and he wasn't even the Bulldogs first option. Those numbers should increase with several key players having graduated. Donnie Hale is a player to keep your eye on this upcoming season. |
