This week’s 5A Players of the Week as compiled by contributors to the Eyewitness Sports Department:

Devon Walker, senior safety, Destrehan

Walker had 13 solo tackles and four assists in Destrehan’s 20-0 win over Higgins.

7-5A

Blake Forbis, senior quarterback, Slidell

Forbis went 16-of-23 for 211 yards and two touchdowns and also carried the ball seven times for 30 yards in Slidell’s 35-0 romp of Covington.

8-5A

Neil Robertson, senior quarterback, Terrebonne

The senior signal-caller didn’t miss a pass, going 7-of-7 for 198 yards and two touchdowns and added 94 yards and a score on 11 carries in a 26-20 win over Central Lafourche.

9-5A

Craig Johnson, senior receiver, Ehret

The Patriots’ wideout caught nine passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns in Ehret’s 42-14 blitz of Shaw.

10-5A

Beau Mothe, senior receiver/punter, Jesuit

Mothe caught seven passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns as the Blue Jays picked up the first win of the season, 30-27 over Catholic in overtime. Mother also averaged 42 yards per pun on three punts.
