TOP STORIESLake Oswego cruises past Pioneers, 38-810:39 AM PDT on Saturday, October 6, 2007The Oregon City Pioneers didn't beat Lake Oswego Friday night but they did something not even Jesuit was able to do against the top-ranked Lakers. They scored. But a safety and a late running TD were nowhere near enough against the dominant Lakers, who improved to 6-0 with a 38-8 win over the Pioneers.
For Lake Oswego, it was another night of dominating running by Zach Young, who tallied three TDs, and impressive passes by Jack Lomax, who threw for two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Lakers' stiffling defense once again came to play. In fact, the first points scored in three games against the Lakers were scored against the offense, on a second quarter safety, not the defense. For good measure, the Lakers even tacked on a school-record 48-yard field goal by Pat Barry. |
