Central Catholic junior Kate Lanz was the first to win the award in association with RISE Magazine.
Central Catholic High According to school officials, the award recognizes “outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the court.”
Lanz led Central Catholic’s Rams to a 23-3 record averaging 14.3 points and 4.5 rebounds and was rated the No.33 junior in the country by Hoop Gurlz. She also maintained a 3.1 GPA and volunteers at Blanchet House, Special Olympics, and Providence Child Center, the school said.
The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tennessee selected Lanz’s jersey to be on display in the Hall’s “Ring of Honor.” |
