Mount St. Charles vs. Hendricken
The two archrivals open their best-of-three Division I state championship hockey series Monday night at 7:30 at Providence College's Schneider Arena. The second game in the series will be played Tuesday night at Schneider. The third game, if necessary, will be played Wednesday night at Schneider.

State basketball title games
The state boys and girls basketball tournaments move to URI's Ryan Center this weekend for six state title games on Saturday and Sunday. Three girls championships will be decided on Saturday, beginning with the Division III game at 10 a.m., followed by the Division II game at noon and the Division I game at 2 p.m. Three boys title games are slated for Sunday, with the Division III game at 1 p.m., followed by the Division II game at 3:30 and the Division I game at 6.

Warwick Vets vs. Prout boys hockey
Warwick, the only team in the state with an undefeated, untied record will be trying to close -out a perfect regular season when the Hurricanes meet Prout in a 7:30 p.m. Friday, Interscholastic League Division III game at URI's Boss Arena.

La Salle at Bay View basketball
The Bay View girls basketball team will host La Salle on Saturday at 11 a.m. , in the first meeting between the teams since they went head-to-head in the Division I Championship last March at the Ryan Center. The defending state champion Rams, who came from behind to edge Bay View, 61-60, on a last-second shot by Torey Jones in last year’s title game, hold the top spot in I-North at 3-1. The Bengals lead I-Central at 3-0.

Brown Track and Field Invitational
La Salle All-Stater Jeanne Mack will race in the Championship Mile, one of the premier events at this weekend’s Brown Track and Field Invitational, which will feature more than 3,000 athletes representing more than 200 schools from throughout New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The meet, which will be held Friday and Saturday at the Olney-Margolies Athletic Center, kicks off with the field events at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Heats for the 55-meter hurdles will kick off Saturday’s events at 9 a.m. Mack will take the starting line against an extremely talented field for the Championship Mile, Saturday at 3 p.m.
