Flowers captured two gold medals – one with a record-setting throw - at the 26^th annual Brown Track & Field Invitational last Friday. The Classical senior, who is the defending national champion in the 20-pound weight throw, took first in that event with a national-record toss of 61-feet, 3/4-inches that surpasses the previous mark of 60-10.5 set in 1997 by Idaho’s Maureen Griffin. Flowers also won the shot put at the Brown meet with a toss of 43-6.25.
