Baseball All-StatesDave D'Errico11:00 AM EDT on Friday, July 3, 2009 One of the most versatile athletes Rhode Island high school sports has seen in a long time, D’Errico closed out his high school career this spring by earning his second consecutive first-team All-State baseball honor to go along with the two first-team All-State football selections he earned in his junior and senior seasons. He led the North Kingstown baseball team to the Division I-South regular-season title and a berth in the title round of the Division I state tournament this spring with his hitting and pitching. A first baseman when he’s not pitching, he was the Skippers' top hitter this season with a .432 average and also led the team in RBI with 37 and extra-base hits with 16, including four home runs. On the mound he posted an 8-1 record with a 1.88 E.R.A.
