Baseball All-StatesJamale Horn11:00 AM EDT on Friday, July 3, 2009SeniorNorth Kingstown One of the top long-ball threats in the state, Horn’s presence at the No. 4 spot in the North Kingstown lineup kept opposing pitchers from trying to pitch away from the two hitters in front of him, fellow first-team All-Staters Ryan Morris and Dave D’Errico. He posted a .650 slugging percentage as 12 of his 30 hits in 80 plate appearances were for extra bases. Four of those extra-base hits were home runs. He also drove home 34 runs, scored 24 runs and had 10 stolen bases. The respect opposition pitchers had for his power was evidenced by the fact he walked 22 times, including 10 intentional free passes. |
