Baseball All-StatesJay Jeannotte11:00 AM EDT on Friday, July 3, 2009SeniorNarragansett Selected the Most Valuable Player in Division I-South this season, Jeannotte proved he was one of the most versatile players in the state with his work as a shortstop, pitcher, hitter and base-runner. He finished the season as one of the top Division I hitters with a .458 batting average (33 for 72). An All-State basketball player in the winter, he showed he could score runs on the baseball field as well as he tallied points on the basketball court. He scored 34 runs and also was 29 for 29 in stolen-base attempts. A sore shoulder kept him off the mound for the first half of the season, but when he finally was able to pitch he registered 61 strikeouts in 38 innings. |
