Baseball All-StatesJames McKinney06:00 PM EDT on Saturday, June 28, 2008 A second-team All-State selection last season, this year McKinney moved up to the first team after a season in which he hit .492, including a sensational .615 in the playoffs. Hitting at either the leadoff or the No. 3 spot in the Rebels lineup, he had 32 hits in 65 appearances, including 11 for extra bases. A speedy base-runner as well as an outstanding catcher, he scored 33 runs this season, including nine in the playoffs. He also drove home five runs in the playoffs and was 6 for 6 in stolen-base attempts. Those six stolen bases in the playoffs gave him a season total of 24 steals.
