Boys Basketball All-StatesBilly Baron06:00 PM EDT on Saturday, April 19, 2008 Possessing one of the best 3-point shots in the Interscholastic League this season, Baron helped the Hawks to the best regular-season record in Division I (17-1) and the Division I-West title by averaging 15.8 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals per game. Baron upped his average to 24.7 points per game in the playoffs by scoring 19 against St. Raphael Academy, 29 with 10 rebounds against Mount Pleasant, and a game-high 26 with five rebounds and four steals in the state championship against Woonsocket. Baron sank four free throws in the final 17.1 seconds of the championship game to lift the Hawks to their unprecedented fifth-consecutive state title.
