Boys Basketball All-StatesAntjuan Jones06:00 PM EDT on Saturday, April 19, 2008 As Woonsocket's floor general and go-to-player for most of the season, Jones helped captain the Villa Novans to the second-best record in Division I and to the Division I-North regular season title by averaging 18 points, 6.5 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals per game. In the playoffs, Jones excelled on the defensive end while scoring 18 points in Woonsocket's 74-38 quarterfinal victory over Cranston East, 13 points in the Villa Novans' 59-52 semifinal win over North Kingstown, and 10 points in Woonsocket's state championship loss to Bishop Hendricken. Jones was voted first team All-Division and one of the top five players in Division I by the Rhode Island Boys Basketball Coaches Association.
