When Chace embarked on her second season of cross country last fall, her primary goal was to position herself among the top seven runners in the state. Mission accomplished. Moving up 32 spots and improving her time by a minute and 43 seconds, the sophomore finished seventh at the state championships in 19:26. She also placed second in the Class B race with a time of 19:37, 28th (16:15) in the Varsity “C” race at the Manhattan Invitational and 86th at the New England championships (20:21). “If you look at her times, every week she got better and better,” said Titans coach Norm Bouthillier. “She wanted it really bad. She was a great kid to work with all year.”
