Continuing her steady progression this season, Colella makes a return appearance on the All-State first team. Once again improving upon her time and her placing at the state championship, the junior knocked 30 seconds off her 2007 performance en route to sixth place in 19:07. A week earlier on the same Ponaganset course, Colella jumped five spots from the year before, finishing fourth at the Class A meet in 19:47.84. She concluded her season as the second Rhode Island finisher, 27th overall, at the New England championships with a time of 19:19. This fall, she also placed 16th (16:03) in pacing Cranston West to 18th place in the Varsity “A” race at the Manhattan Invitational.
