Cross Country All-StatesEmily Siskind02:30 PM EST on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Siskind helped lead Barrington to a perfect dual-meet record and its first Metropolitan Division title in four years. With the Eagles’ top runner, Abigail Jones, sidelined for both the class and state meets, Siskind answered the call, winning the Class B race in 19:19 to help Barrington to a third straight team title and finishing third at the state championship in 18:44.70 to help the Eagles to a runner-up finish there. At the New England championship, Siskind placed third among Rhode Islanders, 30th overall, in 19:26, leading Barrington to an eighth-place finish. Earlier in the season, she placed second in 15:19, the highest finish by a local runner, pacing the Eagles to sixth in the Varsity “C” division at the Manhattan Invitational, which was also the best showing by a Rhode Island team.
