Bowen became the newest star on the state high school golf scene as the Saints sophomore was one of the top five schoolboy players in the state, both during the regular season and in the state tournament. During the regular season, he posted a 38.28 nine-hole average, the fifth-best among the boys and seventh overall. He tied for third overall at the state co-ed tournament with a 36-hole total of 152.
