Golf All-StatesJuliet Vongphoumy06:00 PM EDT on Thursday, June 19, 2008 Juliet made Rhode Island high school sports history when she became the first girl to win the individual title in the co-ed R.I. Interscholastic League tournament. Playing from the women's tees she fired an even-par 71 on the first day of the 36-hole tourney and followed with a 77 in the second round. The 36-hole total of 148 gave her the title with a two-stroke margin of victory. In addition to her historic performance in the co-ed tournament, she finished second at the Interscholastic League's girls tournament. Playing from the women's tees in the co-ed regular-season competition, she posted the fifth-best overall average among all Interscholastic League golfers.
